Mother nature cooperated and provided a beautiful sun filled
day for the twenty-one (21) Corvettes that traveled to Leaf River
to participate in their annual Summer Daze parade.
We met at the Mobil Station on South Main Street in Rockford and took a leisurely
cruise down Hwy 2 along the Rock River to get to Leaf River.
The parade was very well attended (we were #69 of 125 entries).
This is quite an event for little Leaf River. As we had experienced last year
EVERYONE in Leaf River and the surrounding communities showed up for the parade.
We were thanked at least half a dozen times along the parade route by people on
the side of the road for "coming down to attend our parade". These were sincere
thanks from people that genuinely appreciated having us there.
After the parade
we again caravanned up Hwy 2 to Byron for a stop at Sam's Drive Inn for ice cream.
A good time was had by all. My thanks to every one that attended.
