WHAT IS NATIONAL COUNCIL?
The National Council of Corvette Clubs Inc. (NCCC) is just what the name implies; a national organization consisting of 300 Corvette Clubs from all over the United States. Council is divided into regions according to geographic locations and number of Corvette Clubs in a governed area. The structure of the regions are explained in the NCCC Handbook. Northern Illinois Corvette Club is a member of the Midwest Region, which includes the States of Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota. There are 33 clubs in the Midwest Region and each club has a Governor. This NCCC recognized club officer is the club's direct liaison with NCCC. This person attends all national and regional meetings. Our region also has officers who attend meetings to represent the region. The NCCC recognized regional officers are Regional Executive, Regional Competition Director and Regional Membership Director. The Midwest Region also has a Regional Secretary, a Regional Treasurer and a Regional Webmaster.
NCCC provides member clubs and each individual member a competition sanctioning program, liability insurance coverage for member clubs' competition events with other special coverage available, national rulebook, NCCC patch, special member prices on Corvette related merchandise, annual membership perks, and nationwide information on activities.
NCCC also provides an official junior organization known as the Future Corvette Owners Association (FCOA). This membership is available to children/grandchildren/nieces/nephews of NCCC members ages birth to 16.
During the warmer weather, there are NCCC sanctioned events nearly almost every weekend. NCCC also has its own publication called "BLUE BARS" which carries news of what is happening in Corvette clubs across the country. There is also the National Convention held once a year, usually in July or August, at a location, which is voted upon by the Board of Governors. This is well worth attending at least once for an entire week of Corvette related competitive and social events including a party each night, tours, Corvette Mall, etc. every day of the Convention Week with several hundreds of Corvette lovers from across the United States.
It makes you feel good to know you belong to a National group of Corvette owners, possibly the largest motor sports car club in the world devoted to a single marquee:
