December 2010

Happy December
A Hearty Thank You
To outgoing board members. Sergeant at Arms Phil Anders, Parliamentarian Dave Baxter, Editor Richard Swihart and
Quartermaster Harry Pointon. These folks have done an outstanding job and I am
grateful for their contributions over the past several years.
The next time you see any of these folks extend a hand and thank them for their efforts.
The work that they have done is part of the reason that our club is as successful as it is.
A Warm Welcome
To the new board members that were elected at the December meeting.
Sergeant at Arms Bob Adams and Editor Tauna Billups. These folks have volunteered their
time and efforts to ensure that we have a successful 2011. I am grateful to have both Bob and
Tauna join the rest of the board.
Annual Meeting
December 5th 2010 was the annual meeting for our club. A year end report was presented and for those that are interested a copy will be posted on the website.
Help Wanted
We are still looking for a few folks that are interested in participating on the Board for our club.
The pay and the benefits are superb and it gives you a chance to help craft the future for the club.
At the present time we still need a Parliamentarian and a Quartermaster.
If you have an interest in any of these positions please see any board member.
We Heard You
This is a repeat but still appropriate. Beginning with the November issue the newsletter
will posted on line and will not be password protected. We were probably a little over
cautious (protecting privacy) in having the newsletter password protected.
Something To Feel Good About
I do not have the final numbers but it looks like our charitable contributions
this year will be almost five thousand dollars. This figure includes direct cash
contributions and our support the troops work. It does not include the volunteer time spent with Ramp,
Road Clean Up, etc. In a time of uncertain economic conditions this should make us
all feel very good and proud of what we have been able to accomplish.
Convention is Still Coming Convention is Still Coming (Repeat from The Last Six Months but Still Appropriate)
The 2011 NCCC National Convention will be held June 18th thru June 24th in Tinley Park Illinois.
(About twenty seven miles south west of Chicago). This is essentially right out our back door
and it will be exciting to have the national convention this close. As you can imagine an endeavor
of this magnitude requires some planning, some thinking, and some work. At the present time there are
several committee chair positions that need to be filled and I am sure in the near future there will
be many more opportunities to help. I encourage you to visit the convention web site
(you can get there from the NICC home page just click on 2011 Convention Info) and take
a look at the open positions and the posted job descriptions. If you have any questions
please contact Arnie Bailey and I am sure that he will be able to get you the information that you need.
Have a Very Merry Christmas
And a great holiday season. Try to stay warm and we will
see you on the 9th of January at our next meeting.
Again this is your club.
If you have any comments, suggestions, criticisms, or complaints please contact either myself or one of the other board members.
Be Safe.
