Happy August

NICC PresidentDog Days
The dog days of summer are in full swing and so are the late summer and fall activities. Make sure you check the calendar frequently so that you can take full advantage of all of the activities that the club has to offer.

We Done Good
The preliminary count from the car shows held so far this year show that we have collected in excess of $500.00 for support the Troops. Congratulations and thank you to all that participated. A special thanks goes out to Steve and Barb Jackson for their work on the Hooters car show. And thanks to Steve and Vicki Mulder and John and Robbie Mink for the work that they did on the Home Depot car show.

Sponsor’s Car Show
The Bocker Group (our sponsor in Freeport) is having their annual car show in Freeport on Saturday September 11th. I would encourage all of you to come out and participate in this event.

Thanks
To Bob and Sue Adams and to Catherine Cryer for hosting their respective “mini runs”. All (two by Catherine) were very enjoyable and all participants had a great time. The mini runs this year have been very enjoyable and have been a great addition to our calendar.

Now is Your Chance
We are looking for folks that are interested in participating on the Board for our club. The pay and the benefits are superb and it gives you a chance to help craft the future for the club. Harry Pointon is chairing the nominating committee so if you have an interest please contact Harry.

Just a Reminder (Repeat)
The newsletter is now online and mass mailing has been suspended. If you are having any trouble accessing the on line newsletter please get a hold of Joan Thomas

Convention is Still Coming Convention is Still Coming (Repeat from The Last Five Months but Still Appropriate)
The 2011 NCCC National Convention will be held June 18th thru June 24th in Tinley Park Illinois. (About twenty seven miles south west of Chicago). This is essentially right out our back door and it will be exciting to have the national convention this close. As you can imagine an endeavor of this magnitude requires some planning, some thinking, and some work. At the present time there are several committee chair positions that need to be filled and I am sure in the near future there will be many more opportunities to help. I encourage you to visit the convention web site (you can get there from the NICC home page just click on 2011 Convention Info) and take a look at the open positions and the posted job descriptions. If you have any questions please contact Arnie Bailey and I am sure that he will be able to get you the information that you need.

Again this is your club. If you have any comments, suggestions, criticisms, or complaints please contact either myself or one of the other board members.

Be Safe.
Brick
